Introducing learners of all ages to Shakespeare’s stories through fun and high energy workshops
Led by professional actors who specialise in Shakespeare’s works
A fun and exciting introduction to Shakespeare’s stories
Our workshops encourage learners to jump right into the action and take a part, with exercises to take them through the story, meeting and playing every character and thinking about what happens. Each workshop is delivered by a fully DBS checked professional actor and can last anywhere from 60 minutes to a full day or even a whole week! Key Stage 1
Our introductory workshops for Key Stage 1 learners are jam-packed with fun and games, along with a big helping of learning about story-telling through drama. They’re designed to help learners build their confidence and get to grips with Shakespeare’s exciting stories. In every session, each learner will have the chance to:
- Discover the story and the important events
- Play the characters in the story and learn about acting
- Make their own scenes inspired by the plot
- Explore their own stories and find ways of telling them in a fun and dramatic way
- Think about how they feel about characters and the events of the play
- Identify emotions that the characters are feeling and explore how to show them to an audience, with or without words
Key Stage 2
Our Key stage 2 workshops focus on building learners’ knowledge about storytelling and drama with a fun opportunity to:
- Get to grips with the plot
- Play the characters and speak Shakespeare’s lines
- Have their say about the events of the play and how they feel about them
- Ask what each character is feeling and decide if they agree with them
- Look at how theatre is made and explore props, costumes and set ideas
- Feel ownership over Shakespeare’s works
- Start to make up their own plays and work on storytelling through expressive arts
- Discover who was in Shakespeare’s audiences and what they would have thought about the play
- Learn about the language Shakespeare used to tell the story
